Booting Problem - lass.exe
I have Windows XP Professional and When booting either in normal or SAFE mode system shows error before any type of login screen:
lsass.exe The application failed to initialize properly (0xc00000005).
Click ok to terminate.
lsass.exe is not a viru in any case. It may be currpted or anything else. You just copy from another computer and paste in your program files. Thats it.
Lsass.exe is not a virus but it may be corrupted in your computer and due to this reason your computer restart after 60 seconds. I suggest you to copy lsass.exe from another computer and paste it in you C Drive prgoram files. I think this can work in may cases.
Also you can also do format your computer and then reinstall windows XP this may also shut off lsass.exe error problem. Go ahead and apply these two suggestion to fix your error.
From last friday a popup comes up stated that my computer will shut down afte 60 second. And i search on the net and found this is called lsass.exe error. Now i want to know how to get rid of this error. Please help me
I found one interesting solution for lsass.exe. From last couple of days i found my computer infected with lsass.exe and i told one of my friend who have good knowledge about computer. He told me to increase your computer clock timing and lsass.exe error will not shut your computer upto the time you have selected. This is not a permanent solution for lsass but you can make it hold for a while and do complete your work.
I really like this solution. Try it and it defintely work.
When lsass.exe error popup on your screen, open Date / Time Properties and reduce time which is convient for you. So, lsass.exe will not shut down your computer in 60 seconds.
The best thing to do with that "lsass" 60 secs. restart which is WORM, is to reformat and re-install your winXP home or pro THEN if you have a Service Pack 2 installer, install it first!.(service pack 2 can be downloaded automatically when "Automatic Updates" is enabled,..). it is the best thing to do because this "WORM" will infect on SERVICE PACK 1, trust me with this.. this is what i do when i encounter this problem. so remember, re-install everything and INSTALL SERVICE PACK 2. and goodbye WORMS..
I dont this post done by any other user for fixing lsass.exe - 60 second shut down problem. If some one here still suffer from lsass.exe and popup screen with the 60 second shut down msg. follow this step that will temporarily fix this problem. This is not permanent solution but you can save or complete your work even after this error msg.
--> Open Start and go to RUN.
--> Type shutdown -a. -a will abort the pending shutdown.
--> Now press OK.

Hi Buddies,
To resolve this issue, please take the precautions so the W32.Sasser worm or any other Worm can’t attack on your system. Please select a Personal firewall either trial ware or freeware version of Sygate personal Firewall, Symantec Personal Firewall, Zone Alarm Personal Firewall, etc.
Install the Worm security patch relevant to your Operating system.

After downloading the patch, run it on your system & then test your system on

I hope it will solve your problem.
