I FOUND A FIX FOR THE LSASS.EXE ERROR!!!! |
|
|
My Mom's PC was having this issue:
[u]Error: lsass.exe error shuts down XP Home -
Microsoft Windows XP - lsass.exe 60 - second System Shutdown Problem What Can I do to stop this lsass problem?[/b]
first you need to run the SASSER Worm removal tool found on this microsoft link:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=76c6de7e-1b6b-4fc3-90d4-9fa42d14cc17&displaylang=en
that gets rid of the virus that starts the problem.
Then to fix you need to copy a clean version of the LSASS.EXE file from a friends PC that has windows 2000 or xp.(its not that big only like 11k) this is found in C:\WINDOWS\system32\Lsass.exe then copy this file to the same place on your PC. to confirm that it works make sure its says replaceing LSASS.EXE with LSASS.EXE? click yes and it shuould work. it worked for me. let me know if it works for you. |

I have heard of LSASS removal tools and I want to know if anyone recommends a particular lssass.exe removal tool and why you recommend a particular LSASS.exe tool over the others. I am sure this information will help me will this LSASS error but also others.
Microsoft Windows XP people - LSASS.exe should never of shown up on my computer if you people had patched windows in time... 6-8 months before an lsass.exe patch was released is crazy!

What do you think is that the only option? I have a computer at the office and can download a patch if needed, I even went to the antivirus sites and can not see a real solution.
So again I will really appreciate it if you can guide me to solve this LSASS problem which restarts my computer every 60 seconds.
Thanks for your Help in advance.

Cant survive but can still attack |
|
|
Hey,
this is old news but just read someones question about if a virus can survive a deleted partition and format. it cant.
BUT, if you decide to format then reinstall then go on the internet straight away to get windows updates that will patch the problem you are almost certainly going to get hit again, even before windows has finished patching your oporating system.
this happened to me several times, the trick is to make sure you have a decent (updated) firewall + antivirus ready and installed before you go on the internet for the first time.
then download and install all windows updates..
hope i helped!! |

Ok - Lets clear this up.... |
|
|
Hey all.
Ok theres a list of things to get through so lets jump right in - apologies for the tone, ive just spent the morning fixing this crap on a network.
Firstly LSASS.EXE ISN'T A VIRUS - its a windows service that is exploitable.
Second there is a good chance that its not sasser that has infected your machine but rather bloodhound.exploit.8 or maybe another in the bloodhound.exploit family.
Check C:\Windows\debug for a file called DCPROMO.TXT - force your virus scanner to manully scan this file - it will likely come up as a MSO exploit of some description - have it DELETED from the drive and restart - you should be fine - also clean out internet temps and the such as it comes through IE exploits often.
LEARN WHAT SERVICES WINDOWS NEEDS & USES TO RUN - it saves so much time and heartache! |

Win2000 lsass 60 sec reboot 1073741819 error |
|
|
Hello,
Like many others I have the same problem since yesterday. I work with a windows2000 advanced server SP3. For 2 years I had no problem untill yesterday. I tried every advise from this forum but with no succes.
I can boot from safe mode and log on but not with normal mode. In the normal mode I get the 60 secs reboot screen.
I tried to update the SP4 (And hope that this will solve the problem) in the safe mode but the I receive the error "Unable to connect to metabase"
Please can anybody help me? |

mr_terry_professional = evil script kiddie |
|
|
First: Google serach for bereB.exe: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=berebB.exe&btnG=Google+Search
Nothing found. No surprise.
Second: There is nothing, NOTHING, malicious that cannot be removed from Windows given the proper knowledge and ability. So don't listen to mr_terry_professional.
Third: Why would a a fix for this problem be on a file sharing program?
Fourth: Why would such a proposed fix for for a ficticious worm be called "hotmail hack.exe" That makes me laugh.
Fifth: Why would it require your email/ip address? .... unless it could be a backdoor! *gasp* ... just reverse engineer that little program and you're bound to find some interesting code.
ANSWER: mr_terry_professional is nothing but a script kiddie not competent to do his own hacking. |
