I think that Switching of win2000 to Win Xp or WinXp to win 2000, may solves the problem.

I found that it is the Linksys BEFSR 41 router in between them.
But I don’t understand that how to identify the firewall in between them.

The firewall is the software that may be in the programs list or there are some special commands & features that block your network traffic over the Internet. The thing that blocks network traffic – is the firewall.
I don’t think it is 100% correct, but it may be some.

My PCs Network has Norton 2002 Internet Security on my both network computers and My network administrator disabled the built in firewall that is in Windows XP. About the Windows 2000 pro, it isn’t with any firewall protection on my network.

To resolve the dropping cable connection problem, you have to do some settings.
- Right click on My Network Places, and then Local Area Connection.
- Click on configuration and then power management.
- Please uncheck “ allow computer to turn off this device to save power”
- Click on Ok. And restart the computer.

I tried that solution given by you. My mom was using the other one and dropped her on both the computer.
Any other solution.

Are there any other settings that could be done on Win 2000?
I don’t know that firewall is available in Win 2000 or not? If it is, firewall settings are enabled as by default.

I think that there are some settings in win 2000 pro or network adapter that use using. Norton Personal Firewall or wireless router or cable connection may also create the problem.

Please disable Norton Personal Firewall. If you don’t know that the Norton blocks network ping- traffice and trying to filtering that causing you to dropping a from your network connection while using ebay. This could solve your problem. Rolling Eyes

I don’t understand why Norton causes such problems.
