"winspool.drv" is a device driver.
Goto this side

And download " winspool.drv" and run this.

How do I fix the winspool.drv not found error ?

When i am going to installed an application then i am seeing this error message.
"This application has failed to start because winspool.drv was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem"

and winspool.drv is still present in system folder.

I tried all the things listed in the replies above and nothing worked. What I had to do is put in the ME CD, Choose to Browse the cd, click on the Win9x folder, then choose the win_16.cab folder, find the winspool.drv, copy and paste it into the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM folder. Restart the machine.... and no more error! GOOD LUCK!
