system32\autoexec.nt error |
|

Thanks Keith ! ! !
My IBM Home Director program works again ! It was the only program on the computer that wasn't working. It just suddenly quit and I had no idea why. I sure wish I knew about computers like some other people do...oh well.

autoexec.nt problem |

i have a quick fix for that.. i found out that you could actually change the autoexec.nt file in system32 .. ok just follow this instructions
1. copy the autoexec.nt in the C:/window/repair/autoexec.nt
2. paste it in C:/windows/system32/..
overwrite the older autoexec.nt in the same folder
i also found this solution in the internet but i forgot the name of the owner .. so im sorry if i can not thank him directly |

Geoneo, You da man.
execellent and truly simple idea. It worked fine. The repair menu has an intact original. Solution is so simple that it hurts. |

system 32 autoexec |
|
|
Hi all
All the ideas so far do work for me. I have copied the files from where I found them into the system32 folder - this works: until the pc is restarted. I used the patch - this works: again until after a restart.
Why are the files shifting? Is there a bug of some flavour? I updated my Norton aintivirus with the latest definitions and also have a tough banned Norton firewall security program which both should inhibit such a problem from happening in the first place.
My computer was running the programs fine until lately, which I can't pin point an opportunity for the misshap to take place. It has happened right under my nose
????????
Help me please - this is my computer I use to interogate microwave transmission. It's my work and without it I'm pretty damn useless

system32 autoexec.nt |

Hi again
Disregard the previous reply from myself. I have found the problematic shifter was some spyware - I downloaded a program called 'security task manager' which views the possible spyware and virus files that access the internet from your computer and/or corrupt your files/folders.
I deleted some fishy files and then ran the sp2 patch. Now, on each restart the relevant 16-bit sub-system porgrams run without the error.
Hope I helped some others in need
