Outlook Express Error: 0x800CCC79 Window will not disappear
Tried to reboot and close OE, and still not working. Using XP we get this message because we used a wrong email address on outgoing mail and the error window will not go away. User can not find .dbx files on the machine, all properties set to show hidden files. Lost at what to do next. Please, any advice is appreciated.

Mistery Password Request
I have a new ISP and enabled Outlook Express 6 to receive e-mail. Before, with the previous ISP, we used only the Main Identity, but now we decided to create other identities. However, when we switch to the Main Identity, OE requests a password, and we do not recall having input any password, or if we did, it is gone from our minds.
How can we figure out what is the password for the Main Identity? Can we ever open it again? All e-mails from the past provider should be in the Main Identity (right?), I have precious messages stored there...

Could anyone help? Thanks. We run on Windows 98.
I have the exact same problem with my outlook express and I would really appreciate it if someone can help me with my outlook express problem.

Highlighting problem
yo! some serious OE knowlege up in here.
MY PROBLEM:
Just bought a laptop with XP. i've always used OE6.0 with no probs. but now, on this laptop, in order to highlight text in OE, i have to hold down the shift key and use the mouse. in any other program, i can just highlight text with the mouse. this is killing me. unfortunately microsoft takes a capitalist attitude to tech support, charging upwards of $50 for 1 phone call. WACK!!
any help / info / advice would be GREATLY appreciated.
How I can stop dual messages and also how I can delete an E-mail message, that same message comes up again, how do I correct this.
actually I had a Digital problem after solving that this problem started
i am also trying to find out how to stop dual messages . did you find out any thing yet. william - threewire1@copper.net

can't connect to pop3 server
I have a friend having problems connecting to pop3 server with OE6. I downloaded netscape and set up mail with the same settings. I was able to connect and get mail without a problem. I have a similar problem on my own computer. I can connect to get email, but sometimes when I try to get more emails while OE is still open, I get the same problem. It asks if I want to wait to connect to server. Both machines are running XP home with sp2. Both computers are using same ISP. I read that it might have something to do with the antivirus program. My friend is running mcafee and I am running ez-antivirus. I plan on trying to access mail while disabling mcafee. I will also try running msconfig and try shutting down programs to see if they are effecting OE. Has anyone else had a problem like this? I was also thinking of deleting the account in OE and then trying to set it up again. I am also just thinking of installing outlook and setting up account. Is Outlook better than OE? I just wanted to get some ideas before I try to fix the problem. The problem on my machine I can live with. I can still access my mail, but my friend has to access his mail by using the web. I appreciate any help. Thanks!
I am currently running outlook express 6.0 on a windows 98se platform. All my email messages appear blank when opened; however, when checking the message source through the properties, I can still view the message in plain text. How can I remedy this problem? Thank you.

DIRECTDB.dll Problem
Hello,
When compacting folders in Outlook Express 6 (Windows Millenium) I get an error forcing a shutdown of Outlook Express. I have over a Gig of stored eMails, tho' I doubt that's the problem.
I think you are mad. Is this possible to send offline mail. With outlook express you can see mails because once you download all mails you can read any time but without internet connected to your computer there is no way to send mail using outlook express.

Hotmail-plus & Outlook Express MS outlook
Does it matter if you have both Outlook express 6 and Ms outlook 2000 ???
I have Outlook Express 6 hooked up to my Hotmail Plus but I cant seem to get my MS Outlook 2000 to do the same... I keep getting error messages....and when it finally went though MSN didn't recognize my username and password. Is it because I have the 2000 MS Outlook ??
