wdfmgr.exe is part of Microsoft Windows media player 10 and above. This process decreases compatibility problems whilst the product is in use. This program is non-essential process to the running of the system, but should not be terminated unless suspected to be causing problems.

This process is the Windows User Mode Driver Manager which is part of the Windows Driver Foundation needed for increased stability of your Windows device drivers.
It is shipped along with Service Pack 2 for Windows and Windows Media Player 10.
Terminating this process should not cause any severe problems, but it's not recommended unless causing problems.

I am not advise anyone to remove wdfmgr.exe from task manager. It is not a virus so you dont need to worry about it. Wdfmgr is used by windows and not recommended to remove this process. It is used to safe running of your computer.

Forget about wdfmgr.exe and do your work.

Information and location of wdfmgr.exe

Wdfmgr.exe is a critical windows program which is used for the Windows media player and various other driver related items. Wdfmgr.exe will be found on most new PCS that have the latest video player. This is an executable program. Wdfmgr.exe file should be located in the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 folder.
