Motorola SB4100 Cable modem error |
|

| After rebooting & click on Dos prompt & ping your modem to 198.168.100.1. If it working properly, then your modem is ok & it hasn’t any problem. Now go on network connection > properties > TCP/IP > properties. Here set the IP Address to none means click on assign automatically to your computer & reboot your computer. |

If it works fine so there is no problem with your modem. Now it is good to connect with internet.
Have a nice experience to surf with your connection.
Good Luck to you… |

| I see my signal strength & it was “34bVm”. I am very sure that something going wrong with your downstream. If your upload works well then call to your ISP and getting answer from there only. |

| One thing I have in mind that does you uses your cordless phone while connecting. Do you have your cordless phone near to your modem? Your cordless phone that also generates bad noise, so Please remove your phone from your computer as well as from your room only. |

Please call to your cable ISP to find some solution for that. You can check with your fuzzy channel on your TV. Check your cable from bad noise. Any thing at any how you have to call your cable ISP to help me.
Thanks, |

Ethernet Cable connection problems |
|
|
I am having trouble while setting up my Cable modem to run on USB port. I see that it is not working so I want to set up for Ethernet Cable. My PC has Ethernet but it has a point that is used for phone only. What I do for that? Do I buy a new Ethernet adapter?

First Thanks in advance,
The Ethernet adapter that you want to buy it costs around $15-$30 in the market.
Just do one thing change your USB modem. I think this is main problem, I think check out with your Ethernet card. |

| If your machine have the Ethernet card, but the slots are phone plug size. Another question is that is there any Ethernet adapter or do you have to install it physically? |
