hi justin,
When you connect to the Internet using a DSL modem, the connection speeds that you will experience will vary based on a variety of factors, including the following:
1)Distance of your telephone line from providers office
2)Condition of telephone wiring inside and outside your location
3)Computer configuration
4)Network or Internet congestion
5)Server and router speeds of the Web sites you access
Hope you will get some idea from this. |

Justin,
As far as i know home and office users normally see 1.5 megabits in speed tests. Due to overhead the more commonly seen speed with this type of connection is in the neighborhood of 1200-1250. The top speed for ADSL lines is around 8 mbit/sec for the download, and 1 mbit/sec for the upload. For SDSL lines the top speed is 2.3 mbit/sec on both the upload and download. |

| Right now I am using Digiweb and I am getting maximum speed upto 512Kbps to 2Mbps in download, and 128kbps to 256kbps in upload. There is the dramatic difference between dialup and DSL with dialup you will get only 40kbps speed. |

Mel,
You can check your DSL speed through number of internet testing services. Try searching for “DSL speed test” on the Google, or going to http://www.everythingDSL.com and then searching for DSL speed tests and patches. |

| That’s good. With a DSL you will be able to decrease your download time for this 12.3MB file from about an hour over a 28.8kbps modem to six minutes or less. |

| Hi, is the speed of the High Speed DSL depends on the location or not? Because I am living in rural area and looking for High Speed DSL. Any suggestions. |
