I have had the hardest time trying to get America Online out of my computer and we worse, I keep getting charged every month. First i get charged for the regular service, and then i get charged for the 9.95 for aol with third party broadband. I have no idea what else to do. I have talked on the chat with an rep and he insisted to call a number, which hang up on me after 5 minutes of hold, so i called the main line, which kept talking about how to sign up, so once i found techinal support, i got a rep to forward me to "cancellation Department" Where i was on hold for 45 $%$%$%$ minutes!!!!! then i get a very rude rep who told me to that i cant cancel my account today, i have to wait UNTIL the end of the cycle and then they will cancel the account. So ONE day before i call them and ask them to cancel the account, but again, i didnt have the patiences to stay on that annnoying cancellation line. so you know, on the billing date, i call them again and u know what the $%$%$% told me, YOU CANT CANCEL YOUR ACCOUNT TILL THE NEXT BILLING DATE, that girl was like, your account was charged for $24 and then two days later i was charged 10 more for the other $%$. I am REALLY PISSED man, i have no idea what to do, with this guys. And they debit from my check card. PLEASE HELP!

You may cancel your WT.net account using any one of the following methods:

Call them at 713-965-0485, and they will issue you a cancellation tracking number for your confirmation.
Go to their On-line Cancellation Form.

https://adm2.wt.net/members/cancelReq_members.phtml

Please give them your username, password, and the personal information you gave them when you originally signed up the account. Also tell them if you want the account terminated immediately, at end of your billing period, or at a specific date. Please check back with them in a few days to make sure your account has been cancelled.

My suggestion dude, call your bank and tell them that your card is lost so then they'll send you a new one, so that way they cant charge your account. Thats for the WORST case. Take care

i think that if you haven't signed on at all, even for a second, you can get them to refund your money from those months that you were charged. but if you did sign on, even just to go to keyword: billing, and get the cancellation number, they're going to charge you for that whole month. that's what they do. that's how they make money. you only have a chance to fight it if you never signed on.

I have been trying to cancel aol for 5 months. They finally stopped billing one credit card and began billing another of my cards. I never even gave them that account number and can only surmise they got it because I had a compuserve account on that credit card a couple of years ago. This is the worst racket I have ever had to deal with. We have phoned and faxed repeatedly and they are still billing us. Fortunately, our visa company is familiar with the aol scam/business practices and is not honoring the last 3 charges, as well as changing our account number. I will NEVER have any dealings with aol again.
