Internet connectivity error, one machine doesn’t connect to

I am trying to connect two XP pro machines using a Netgear router and a motorolla cable modem with Comcast service. I can get on the network, and see the other box and grab things off of it, and the computer w/o internet can be seen and interacted with. I have already tried the "run ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew but to no avail. One computer is using DHCP and the one without internet is not and I cannot get DHCP to give me an IP on the computer w/o internet connectivity. I think this is the root of my problem, since one box is using DHCP and the other is not. The only thing is, I have tried to get DHCP to work on the other box and I have set everything up in correctly in TCP/IP.
