give support for routers. First I supected the modem. I requested a new modem. Comcast said they were going to send a person to check my equipment. And if they have found that the equipment works fine, I would be billed 65 bucks. Do you guys how they are making MONEY!!!!! Don't let them
rip you off!!!!

Hey Arnold,
I saw that you are having problems with comcast wanting your mac address for the computer. The easiest way to fix that is just go into the command prompt, which for windows 2000, and XP, is to go to Start => Run=> and type cmd, then click OK, then once in the command prompt type: ipconfig /all That will bring up every piece of info on your network adapter, if that's the computer they have on file, just write down the mac address. Then go into the setup on your router, find the mac address setting and put it in. Done deal. After that, they shouldn't have any problems.

Talk at ya later

I have comcast and curently get on an average 5.5 MBPS on almost all the bandwith test sites i have been to...I offten even see it at 6.15 MBPS. I have the surfboard 5120. But have put alot of time into seting my cable system up in my home...And am still working on geting that last little bit of bandwith out of my cable service LOL......

Cable Modem CTV Signal
Ok I curently have Comcast in Ocean City, NJ. My curant signals read

Downstream Value :

Signal to Noise Ratio 35 dB

Power Level -5 dBmV

Upstream Value :

Power Level 54 dBmV

I curantly 95% of the time get 5.3-5.6Mbps Downstream

Now I want to amp up my signal, Its not bad at all So the way I see it it does not hurt to amp a good signal. But even with a two way pasive amp like electroline 10 Db amp I lose my return. my return goes to about 56 to 57. Witch then puts me back where i started for download speed. So If I put a 10 Db forward two way pasive amp on then add a 10 Db Return two way pasive amp with a noise reducer will it equal out??????????? What does every one think about this???? Would like any ones sugestions and thoughts on this.....All the help would be great..If im missing any thing let me know.....I need to figure out a good but not to expensive way to do this......I think this will work fine... Thanks guys
