I am using a routers and software firewalls combinations for sometime, I'm just want to know whether there's a better software alternative to Outpost that costs around the $20 price mark and is, perhaps, even better?

Hi Thomas, I have been using ZoneLabs ZoneAlarm from a couple of years and it seems to work very well. There is a free version available but I'd recommend you go for the Pro version and get a /me coughs crack.
Hope this will help you

Dear friend,

I have also another firewall option.
Since i have been using zonelabs zonealarm from 2 years.
and i am telling you it really works well.
If someone wanted to check out it free version is available.
But i suggest you to go for zonealarm pro version.

Thanks.

Dear friend,

One more reliable Data Security package available in the market is Trend's Internet sercurity package. The most drawback is that it is so costly and it is a bundled with some softwares like antivirus s/w, firewall, spam filter and many other tools. the details regarding the pakage is available on internet at here:

http://www.digitalriver.com/

You can download its freeware versions from www.tucows.com,www.downlaod.com,www.zdnet.com, etc.

There are several Firewall & Antivirus available in the market.
Sygate Personal Firewall, Zone alarm firewall, etc are famous firewalls in the market and appreciated by the users.
AntiVir, Avast! 4 Home Edition, AVG free Edition, Vcatch, Easy Desk Software’s Virus Repellent are good Anti Viruses.

Hope this will be helpful to you.

hey thomas,

If money is really no concern then you really should go with a Cisco
Pix firewall. It is the best on the market today. I would recommend
the Pix for small businesses for your particular application.

The Zone Alarm Firewall is the best virus & Trojan scanner software to protect against your system or network. If you want to create a network using ZA, it is the best because it also supports hardware of your network.
Let me remind that ZA is the best, if you want to buy it go for Zone Alarm Pro Version.

Simply it’s the best…

There are several other Firewalls that is the alternative solution for that.
Tiny personal firewall - It sets the rules for your computer/ Network itself.
Zone Alarm Firewall – Free version or Pro version.
For to buy a firewall – Zone alarm pro is best.
For personal uses – Zone alarm is best.
Sygate Personal Firewall – Easy to configure.
Norton Ghost Personal Firewall – It is not too much easy to configure, but On the Networks its best.

Zone Alarm Pro is a good firewall, but the computers that don’t configured the DHCP Server that may cause problems. For to solve the problem, I switch to the Sygate Personal Firewall – that don’t have any problem for that, Do not Configuring the DHCP Server – A Severe problem found using Zone Alarm Pro.

I run Tiny Personal Firewall, in absence of the Zone Alarm Pro. I see that no comparison between the ZA & ZA pro. Same with Sygate & Tiny firewalls, they do a better job , Plus no a sever problem like DHCP Server. These are the Optional Firewalls for your network.
They can do a good job on Network like ZA.

Thanks,
