Oe 6 “illegal operation” – can’t open oe mail.

When I open OE, I can read my mail in the preview screen, but when I try to OPEN an e-mail, I get an "illegal operation" message in msimn, and OE shuts down. It doesn't matter who the e-mail is from or whether it has an attachment or not - they all do it. Suggestion please.

try this
Click Start, point to Find, and then click Files or Folders.
In the Named box, type *.dbx, in the Look in box, click Local hard drives (CSmile, and then click Find Now.
For each *.dbx file that is found, right-click the file, click Properties, and then clear the Read-only check box. Click Apply, and then click Close.
not sure if that is the fix but it will not hurt to try it ... usually you would get an error like MSIMN caused an invalid page fault in module INETCOMM.DLL.
