DSL connection closes down.

I have a dsl connection and today tried to check the speed (have done this many times before) and every time I clicked on a test site my browser shut down. I altered my "Privacy" and "Security" settings to "Low" and still had no luck. Anyone have any ideas?

Does this happen on all speed test sites or only one?
Have you done a check for spyware?
It might be a problem with just one site but you should mention what site it is that closes off your browser - that way I can test it out too .

have tried at least 8 or 10 different sites from the first three pages of a Google search for "Broadband Speet Tests" and get the same result with each. As soon as I click on the test (or select a test from a page with more than one) IE shuts down. I have run a complete virus scan, SpyBot Search and Destroy and Ad Aware and the problem still exists. I called my DSL provider's tech support and they suggested a virus. Really a strange problem since I can surf to any other site.

Because you've done spyware and virus checking the only way I can think of to pin it down would be to run HiJackThis. It's a program that shows everything that's running on your system and can be really handy in diagnosing the more bizarre issues.
