My Belkin Wireless Card Creates problems on my DELL Inspiron |
|
|
I just bought a Belkin Wireless Network Card for my Dell Inspiron 1100. I want to connect with a 2WIRE router for Internet access. My friend’s computer is a MAC and his Internet connection/signal is fine.
My wireless card had excellent connection when I first installed it. The only problem with the Internet. It said, “Page cannot be displayed,” I have the correct access number and I make all changes to connect with Internet, like I unplugged a cable. But, It says that, “Network cable is unplugged,” Every time, when I trying to get a signal.
The Belkin card is in Local Area Connection 3 on my enter network connections. And also, the Local Area Connection for Broadcam 440X 10/100 Integrated Controller is unplugged.
Two main questions I have:
1. How do I go about getting the cable plugged back in?
2. Where do I put the access number on the Wireless LAN Monitor Utility?
Thanks in advance! |

| The disconnection on broadcom is normal. All you need to concern is the wireless connection. Your friend router might has a security feature turn on. In order for you to connect you may need to know his router SSID. If he turn off the SSID broadcase fuction, you have to put SSID manually in XP setting. Also, he may use another kind of security too. Such as, MAC address not to be confuse with Mac Computer) filter or WEP or WPA. |
