My Wireless Card doesn't work properly
Hello,
I have a laptop with Win XP and Broadcom wireless card using the public wireless ISP to connect and its signal strength is "very good". But I can't receive the IP by DHCP, only the automatic IP. Therefore, I can't receive packets of information; just send them with no reply.
I already reinstalled the wireless driver, and nothing seems to help.
It sounds like you are associating with the wireless network, but you aren't authenticating properly. Chances are good that you didn't enter the WEP key correctly.
If you are quite confident that the WEP key is correct, or if you aren't using encryption, the problem could be caused by interference. Try changing the channel on the wireless access point to see if you are able to connect then. It could be that you will be able to use the network then.
