Remote Desktop not shows Local LPT Printer Win2k & XP Pr
My local LTP printer won't show up when I use remote desktop connection over our VPN. I've tried making another shared printer on my ECP port. I tried the “net use” command and it still won't show up. This happens on both the local Win XP Pro box that. has the printer hooked up to it and the Win2k box connected with Win XP machine.
I have to use a USB HP printer attached to Win XP computer and that not work on either HP LaserJet 1012. Even after, I did the registry changes. I changed it to a LPT printer would solve the problem instantly Samsung SCX-4016 but its not working.
If this means you want to use your remotely connected printer from your remote desktop connection, then the problem just lies on the connection options.
When starting Remote Desktop Connection, before connecting, click the Options button. Then go to "Local Resources" tab, and make changes on those resources. You might want to disable connection to your "local printer" when you logged in to the remote one, and prefer to use the remote Printer.

Re: Remote Desktop not shows Local LPT Printer Win2k & X
the printers on the remote computer wills how by default, it's the local printer that u wanna use in a remote session i understand.
i think the problem is that the drivers for the printer u're using are not installed on win xp by default, all u have to do is to manually install the drivers on the remote computer and the printer should appear in your next session.
