Is wireless better than satellite?

We have one-way satellite and I found out that there is now wireless in the area. I want to switch and use the WISP with a 80211.g wireless router for 2 home computers. Will this be better than the satellite? I signed up with the company back in March and so far nothing! I wanted to mount their antenna on a TV tower and they said I couldn't. I guess I'm just wondering if it will be worth the effort, just in case they ever do show up.

Anything, except dialup is better than Satellite, faster ping rates from around 800 ms you may have got with Satellite, down to around 50 - 120 ms depending on the quality of your connection, faster upload speeds, faster download speeds depending on your connection, etc. The only main challenge. I have to deal with is bandwidth, per month download & upload which is 6.0 GB, but I have only come close to that or gone over a few hundred MB. I will need to probably pay the extra GB fee per month at $5.00 per GB, not too shabby though.

Anyway, use the Satellite dish as a bird bath or sell it, and get the WISP!
