DHCP Server Addressing Problems

I am working with a local network and I am having problems with IP addressing. The DHCP server is assigning network computers the same IP address. Insted of relocating the computers to another IP address it simply gives it another address that a computer is currently using. If you could give me some information on the type of problem that I might be encountering then please tell me.

The only thing I can think of is that the computers not releasing the IP addresses, you may want to force them to do that through winipcfg.

What DHCP server are you using?

If you are resetting your DHCP server, then it will not know which MAC addresses are assigned to which IP address. Whether a workstation releases it's MAC address, the DHCP server should be able to avoid these conflicts, if that address is already in use.
