On network hubs, whats the difference between a regular port and the uplink port?.
I know the uplink port is for connecting to another hub so that would mean that everything gets sent to there, but since its just a hub, wouldn’t everything be sent to all the ports anyways?

Does it then follow that you could connect 1 more pc to the hub using the uplink port IF you used a crossover cable?

An uplink port uses the crossover cable in so that you do not need to use a crossover cable. You could go from a standard port to a standard port if an uplink isn't available, then just use a crossover cable to make it work.

If you have an uplink port as the only free port. If yes then you could use a crossover cable to connect with another PC so long as the uplinking port is not shared with the first port. Some hubs only allows you to use a free port OR the uplink port, but not both at the same time.
