How to programming on D-Link router?

Hi,

I uses d-link di 704 router to connect two computers with Internet. I am using win98 PC using @home service and their supplied cable modem , a SMC NIC and my network settings are - 'Obtain IP address automatically and disable DNS servers."

When i connect the router, nothing happens. D-link uses a browser to connect to the Internet and go to their website to program the router. I can go to their website through the router ok, it's what to do when i get there.

I followed the instructions and I configured it for geting IP Address automatically.
What am i doing wrong? I want to connect Internet using it.

Any possible Suggestions..

I never used the Dlink and most other routers, use your browser to connect to the router itself and set it up there. I am also not sure how to setting the router there. Is there any hub involved currently?

Generally you connect your router to your cable modem.
Connect to the router and configure it as a DHCP server.
Give it a list of IP Addresses and then save it.

Then tell your computers to obtain an IP automatically and reboot.
You can use ping and winipcfg to give you some good information regarding that.
