Linksys Router Connecting to Internet, How I configure it?

Using a Linksys 4-port router to connect to my ADSL using PPoE. It works great but when I start my system, I have to go with my browser and manually enter setup/status to connect. Then reboot. Only then can I enter my web browser to surf. Is this the norm? I read the manual and I don't believe that, anything I'm missing.
Anyone run this ever before?

Do you have the latest firmware update for Linksys? I know the earlier versions that had a lot of problems with PPPoE.
I recommended that the Linksys is - for the LAN & it enables the DHCP server. Set your clients to obtain IP automatically & use DHCP. Use the router's IP Address in the gateway Address - Bydefault it is 192.168.1.1.
Now Enable DNS and use the computer name for the host name, leave domain as blank & add the router's IP Address for the DNS IP Address.
Also,Set the IE preferences to Tools | Internet Options | Conenctions to “Never dial a connection” and in LAN settings, uncheck all boxes having anything to do with a proxy.
