I am going to connect two computers with a Linksys 4 port router and to a Cable DHCP connection. I am just trying to clarify that the router has a default IP Address of 192.68.1.1. I assume that as my gateway. I enabled the router for DHCP and then i don’t need to specify the router for an ip address, subnet mask or DNS server. But I am trying to see everything right.

What will I need to configure on the router besides DHCP and the IP Adress as my computer's gateway that i need to configure my LAN? I assume that the 2 computers IP addresses are 192.68.1.2 and 192.68.1.My Internet Provider uses a DHCP server so do I have to use my router the Gateway and/or DHCP server of my Internet Service provider?

Thanking you.

Hello,
You don't even need to set any gateway on your network. Just install TCP/IP, that automatically set DHCP as by default. Anmd then, the router starts assigning IP
Addresses starting at 192.168.1.100, not from 192.169.1.1.
