How do I open or close ports on my Win2K machine?
I'm running Zone Alarm, but I haven't checked to see if I can manipulate ports through it or not. I think I remember seeing something like this when I used BlackIce Defender. Is there a way to keep a port from being opened?

ZoneAlarm monitors all traffic, so if you don't specifically let an application go out and simultaneously have fewer server permissions, it's closed.

www.grc.com does a basic scan of commonly used ports for hackers. Two other places to get more detailed scans are www.dslreports.com and www.hackerwhacker.com . You can only use hackerwhacker once before purchasing a subscription, but it is pretty hard to search for open ports.
