My DSL service should be active by tomorrow and I am looking for comments on my switch device which is best..
What do you think of these two routers:

Linksys BEFSR41Etherfast Cable/DSL Router 4 Post Switch
Netgear Model TR314 4 port switch.

Should I be conserned with what type of ethernet cards I go with?
I'm looking at standard PCI PNP type cards to connect with machines to share the network.

Thanks,

Sam

I am planning on going with the Linksys DSL/Cable router.

When I go for to install the Linkys Ether16 LAN Card. As part of the installation of the DSL modem, I have to install the software from my ISP - CenturyTel CD. During this Installation I had some problems.
It asks for to “Select the Ethernet Adapter you want to use." When I select the drop down arrow, the selecion is blank. From here, I can’t go further steps to do software installation.

I checked Device Manager in Win 2K PC and it doesn't show any conflict for that. It is NEC 2000 compatible. I uninstalled it and selected it from a list Linksys adapters and Win 2K CD used for to install a driver. No conflicts that I can see.

Since the install directions say the card must be a 10/100 Base T card.
Is it possible this card will not work. I think this card is 10mbps only.

Thanks for your reply.
