I really dislike vonage service and support. cancel is and go to some one else who really cares about proviiding proper support to voip customers.

Vonage sure does not and so cancel vonage.

Cancellation department number: 800-860-5491

It taken a couple minutes to cancel the account. They charged about $40 cancellation fee and promised to credit it back after I return the router. I did, but it taken another month and another call to get my money back.

The customer care is really, really bad.

There wasn't an option anywhere on the website or in the call menu for cancellation.
Then I talked with someone and asked them to cancel my service.
They said ok (nothing else)
and then I got an email from Vonage saying they had been trying to call me (I was out of town)
I told them I had already cancelled and they said oh that person was just taking messages.
They don't have the authority to cancel your acct and that we had to speak on the phone again to cancel.
That just sounds sleazy to me.

My vonage service in the past was ok, not horrible or spectacular.
The reason I am cancelling is because I found something better.

I see no reason why I should continue to pay vonage when I can have skype for free

First to cancel, call 866-243-4357, go through the voice mail tree till you get to the choice to cancel for any other reason (than the 3 previous ones). When you get the so called "customer support" person, he/she will take some basic information, and then ask you the reason why you want to cancel. Tell them "Because my Dog died." That will totally throw them, because they have no script for it. Absolutely refuse to give them any other reason. And stay on the line until they give you a confirmation code. I went the route the first time of venting a litany of reasons why I want to quit, and the girl absolutely refused to cancel me. I called back and got a different person and told her "Because my Dog Died" and refused to go further. The cancelled me and I have the confirming email. What a shame it has to come to this.

ABSOLUTELY THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVERY. I NEVER EVEN FOUND OUT HOW BAD THEIR VOIP WAS. THE VOIP THEY HAD COULD NOT BE TURNED ON WITH COMCAST CABLE INTERNET. FUTHER THEY COULD NOT HOOK UP TO AN ALARM (CENTRAL STATION FIRE/BURGLAR) WHICH MADE IT EVEN MORE INCONVIENANT. AMAZED AS I SIT HERE - I AM BEING CHARGED FOR A SERVICE THAT I DID NOT EVEN HAVE. THE SERVICE WAS NOT ABLE TO BE SWITCHED ON, I AM STILL GETTING CHARGED, AND VONAGE HAS ANSWERING CALL CENTERS IN THE PHILEPENNES WHICH ARE NOT VERY HELPFUL. THEY DO NOT HAVE THE AUTHORITY TO DO ANYTHING. FRUSTRATION MOUNTS. NOW I HAVE TO CALL THE ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT TEAM IN NEW JERSEY WITH VONAGE. THEY ARE THE SIDE OF VONAGE THAT WILL ALLOW CANCELLATION.

I ordered vonage in early November 2007. I am on SSD so I thought wow for what I am paying my phone co. now, this would save me a lot being on a fixed income! NO they lie. They told me I could keep the same phone, they would get in touch with my phone co. So i made an initial payment with a credit card my mom has for me for emergencies and such. I am in TN she is in NY. I get a call from vonage saying they contacted ATT and I would have to have a second phone liine!!! Where would i be saving money. So I canceled right then. They said once they receive the device, which was never even opened, I would get a conformation e-mail regarding cancellation of the service. I did on Nov.20, 2007. They charge a disconnecting fee for something that was never even connected. I also got a conformation e-mail saying they received the device. The e-mail also said I would be refunded $53.74 which they said included the disconnection fee. They have been charging my mom every month since nov.!! So every month I have had to deal with these people. On the phone for an hour or more and get nowhere! The last person I spoke with said it would be taken care of. I was very calm and polite. The guy was soo rude to me he hung up on me!! My mom called me today and said there was a charge on her bill again for $43.79 on her statement from freakin vonage!! She called her bank again, they take the charge off each month and on the same statement she is charged again. So she called vonage today and the jerks told her it was a disconnection fee!!! They already charged for that in Nov. 2207
This company is aweful! I would tell all the people I know about this. Embarassed

I read the horror stories and I feel bad for everyone that had to go thru all that. Why dont you just use voip without internet, and get the Itoggler device for just $29 bucks and thats it. Save hunderds, since you dont need to cough up $50 for cable or $30 for dsl service and use the same voip services without paying for all the extra requirements!

Get VoIP without Internet service or connection. Just use Itoggler device.

Get smart people. Vonage is so out of business! I hope no one bought thier stocks when they went public. They must hate vonage more then any of us.

One Love ... ItoGglEr.com baby! yeaaaa...

Hi

It's really hard. I am really fucked by vonage. They charged me extra to cancel the services.
I don't know. i changed the 3rd voip company and still the results are same.
Does anybody knows some good and reliabel voip company even if they are small doesn't matter.
Sometimes smaller companies are better because they have ambition to reach the sky.

Thanks
