Wireless broadband internet discussions |
|
|
I've been looking to get broadband for some time, being an avid online gamer, and downloading loads of large files. Many games simply aren't playable on ISDN 64K anymore (PlanetSide, Battlefield 1942), and many future ones won't be (Everquest 2, Star Wars Galaxies). Plus, downloads get larger and larger every month I live in rural Wales. This means no ADSL for me for years, and even then I'll only get the poorest data rates. Satellite is no good for games
So, can anybody help me to finad a decent info on wireless broadband internet and answers my above questions |

www.nationwidesatellite.com/highspeed.asp offers best services in USA & Canada. It’s 64 Kbps line costs $370 per month.
Give me info on various wireless service providers in USA & Canada.
Anyone can suggest me what connection is useful for me?

Today I download a 50MB File on my Wireless Network; it transfers very quickly around 15 scc., But it still shows that weak signals. Is I need DLINK DI-624 Wireless router 108 MBPS and 108 MBPS D-LINK PCI Card? What I do to improve my data transfer over my LAN?
Thanks, |

Hi Tod,
The speed of the wireless internet is totally dependant on you. Speed can vary from 10x faster than a dialup connection, up to a dedicated 10Mbit link.

| There is no need to worry about wireless internet access in rain or snow. Internet service is not effected in rain/snow storms, or on cloudy day. |

Hello!
Yes, you can able to connect all the time thro wireless connection. There is no need to wait for a dial-up connection. You can connect to internet as starting up your web browser. |
