ADSL provides high speed internet access over a single dedicated telephone line. While Cable services offer high speed access over a shared cable television line.
In ADSL information is transmitted over a private line. And in Cable modem information is transmitted over a shared cable line.

I am using ADSL from last couple of days but I am getting problem in connection and sending and receiving mails. Now, I want to move to Cable but is cable reliable or not. But confused is cable is reliable or not? The main point of consideration from my side is speed, better connection, better service. Guide me with your reply.

Hi, If you compare ADSL and Cable, cable will always win the contest. And I also heard about the e-mail problem with ADSL. Mostly connection is completely down on Sunday night with ADSL. And with cable this problem is very few and also it is always letting you connect to the internet.

From personal experiance i have never had a problem with email.

If you knew anything about this you would not even bring this up - considering email has nothing to do with wether your on dialup / cable / or adsl

it depends on who is providing the email sevice.

Secondly i will never get cable.
- expensive installatation
- is fixed to 1 adress
- Is shared with your local community
- is just as un reliable as a phone line..
- Sure its cabable of faster speeds

but

the fact of the matter is this.

- phone lines are already in every house
- we can get broadband without installing a shitty cable box in our house and have to worry when we move.
- we get a deticated line
- because adsl is alot more effient to implement it will grow at a faster rate meaning phone lines will be upgraded faster
- Not that they need to soon because a standard coper phone line cable is cabable of 8mbps.

ADSL prices will drop alot faster then any cable price will ever drop...

ADSL is not un reliable. - people who do not know - will state it is........but f them!
