I’m using Optus $55 wireless Internet Connection. There is a way that I could connect my Nokia 7250 mobile with my laptop. I have 30 cents for 10 min-calling rate. You can prefer better off trying to use your phone as a GPRS modem via infra-red or something to be laptop.

The connectivity depends on phone, so all you need to buy a data cable and use it like a dial up modem. If you have blue tooth or infra-red on both laptop &your phone.

If you have a GPRS then you can use it instead of dialing in. It will connect you to the Internet through Optus.

You can dial your Optus connection with your phone via infrared but its really slow. You get charged for a phone call. If you use GPRS, then you get charged for the data but it will be closer to 40k in speed. I use GRPS a lot on the road using my phone as a modem for my laptop to check email, it just gets expensive if you want to surf.

Make sure that Data Calls are Charged Differently to voice calls. You can call them 1300 300 937 for them to explain full costs to you.

By Default Data Calls on Optus Network are charged at WAP rates.
