Question: helpctr.exe – how to remove helpctr.exe process ?

There was some problem of speed in My Computer, when I was monitoring the Windows Task Manager’s Process List and I found helpctr.exe. Does any one knows about helpctr ? Is it any system process or user process ? I have been using Norton Antivirus and it has not detected it as virus or worm, so is it related to any spy ware? Please tell me how this file helpctr.exe showed up and how can I remove this helpctr.exe process and will it generate any windows error ? Is there any helpctr.exe removal tool or utility available ?

Go to the directories below

C:\WINDOWS\Prefetch

C:\WINDOWS\pchealth\helpctr\binaries

C:\WINDOWS\pchealth\helpctr\System\Remote Assistance\Interaction\Common

C:\WINDOWS\pchealth\helpctr\System\sysinfo

Every folder is containing a related application with HelpCtr.
Delete them all.
Restart your computer

However, this application, unfortnately, regenerating itself at particular intervals, which I haven't figured out yet.

So, if the problem is not solved, you will have to format your computer WITHOUT BACKING UP ANY DATA
