Question: msiexec.exe - what is msiexec.exe removal process ?

I have not noticed 'msiexec.exe' showing in my Task Manager, under the Tab "process" header before on my computer,I noticed the 'msiexec' just now and I am a bit concerned and so I want to know what this 'msiexec' does and how to remove the 'msiexec.exe' from my computer ? Also I want to know whether it is a system process or user process and Is it because of some error in any program exe, virus or worm? Please tell me how this file msiexec.exe showed up and do I need to remove this file ? And is Removal process easy?

I am running a Pentium IV with Win XP. I tried to install Office XP using the autorun but I get an error message that says msiexec.exe has caused an error. My system then hangs and I have to turn it restart to press ctrl+alt+del. After restarting I tray again but same error is displayed. Please help me to fix this problem. I am here to watch your reply.

Thanks.

That’s why it is necessary to require that file.

You have to reinstall that file or update that file.

You have option to reinstall your operating system

Hi Everybody,

msiexec.exe an installer file vital to install applications on windows. msiexec.exe is used to install new programs that use Windows Installer package files (MSI). This should only be running while you are running an installer. It's also a Windows System File and should be in a system directory. This application is safe.

Bye... Smile
