There is a useful link that may helpful you. http://www.carricksolutions.com/raspppoe.php#18
The mainly 3 things to be considered by the user.
- It doesnt have proper driver
- It is an Ethernet modem, and
- You have to create a dial up connection on Win XP. |

These are the simple steps that you have to follow:
1 - Make sure your network adapter working properly or not.
2 Click on Start > Control Panel > Network Connections and look for a Local Area Connection.
3 - Make sure that your connection established on the Network Adapter that you have selected.
4 Click on TCP/IP > properties. Enter an IP address (usually, Alcatel has an IP range of 10.0.0.xxx), i.e. 10.0.0.1, subnet mask 255.0.0.0 and gateway 10.0.0.138 in it. Now click to save & exit.
5 Now Open the IE and type the modem's IP on the Address Bar.
6 - Go to "Phonebook" and add a new entry, name in it and enter the correct VPI and VCI values for your ISP and let it be on "bridge" mode. Click on Add and then save all.
7 Click on Network connection & create a new connection using your service provider. And Enjoy the Internet
I hope this was helpful in solving the problem. |

There is also the pin-out issue. Which pins are connected in the modem?
The part number contains the code to indicate which two pins are used. |

Alcatel Speed Touch as a bridge |
|
|
Hello
I've got two Alcatel SpeedTouch modems and I want to use them as a bridge.
Something like this - PC - ADSL (1) - (RJ11) - ADSL (2) - PC. Is it possible? If it is, could someone help me?
Greetings
