symwsc.exe-Is symwsc.exe system process or virus?
Question:symwsc.exe-Is symwsc.exe system process or virus?
There was some problem of speed in My Computer, and in the Windows Task Managers Process List I found symwsc.exe. Is it any normal system process, error or is it any error exe, worm, virus or any spy ware? It looks to be part of windows process list, but I am not sure and want to remove symwsc.exe Process. Please advise me what should I do and how do I remove this process?

symwsc.exe is used by Norton Security Center Service. There is a possibility of any malware can change this file. So, regularly check the location of symwsc.exe and make sure it is located in C:\Windows\System32

symwsc.exe location
So I've looked and symwsc.exe is not located in the folder indicated above by Robin.
I don't know where it's located, but it does show up among my "Processes" in the Task Manager.
I have some kind of infection with my computer that none of the Norton or Adware filters seems to be able to find. In particular, my desktop has been converted to constantly read "SPYWARE INFECTION" in big red letters on a blue screen. The option to reset my deskop is locked, and in the Task Bar there is a red circle with a white X in it that simply reads "Your computer is infected" and does not open or respond to any right-clicking.
I thought this symwsc.exe might be the problem because I just got an error message, a "blue screen of death," that noted that file name but then vanished so quickly that I didn't have a chance to read it all.
Any tips on how to find symwsc.exe if it's not in the right place? How to fix it if it's been moved by some malware? Clues about the bizarre hijacked desktop?
ending this process seems to have no ill effect on my box because I am no longer using symantec internet security. if you are not using symantec internet security it should not be a problem.
