DV to USB port conversion in PC for digital camcorder |
|
|
| I bought JVC digital camcorder GR-D22u. For data transfer hook up to PC, it needs DV cable. My PC also does not have DV port. However it does have USB ports. How can I make my computer capable of receiving high speed transfer, or convert USB to DV or vice versa. Please help me. |

DV cameras use Firewire (IEEE1394) as the connection to the PC. This is far faster than USB, although USB2 is getting close.
You can buy a firewire to USB adaptor at most computer shops, but most new PC's have them fitted as standard.
If you are using a desk top PC, and you intend to connect the camera on a regular basis, then the best option is to buy a FIrewire PCI card for your PC, as this will give you MUCH faster trasfer rates than the firewife to USB adapter.
