lsass.exe - system error

Hello.

I'm new to this forum so please bear with me!!

Every time I try to boot Win XP Pro SP2 I get the following message:

"lsass.exe - system error
When trying to update a password, this return status indicates that the value provided as the current password is not correct."

My system then reboots and is caught in a loop. I never manage to get to the actual Windoze screen and so can not run the Start/Run/etc fix that I have seen on a few other forums also all f8 safe mode commands end up with the same result (I am using someone else's computer BTW before you ask )

Can anyone help me with this please?
