LSASS boot error...? |
|
|
When starting up WINXP, I get an error message stating that lsass.exe failed to initiate, and to click on OK to terminate. Whatever I do, whether it be restart to click OK, my comp will not boot. I have nothing but a black screen and the mouse arrow. As far as I can tell, it is the system process(LSASS.EXE), not the virus(ISASS.EXE). It won't let me do anything but go into the DOS menu when it's first booting up, and I can't think of what else to do in there.
Please assist, I'm going crazy trying to understand. |

Hi,
You are 100% correct LSASS.EXE is a system process not a virus.
I think you have two options:
| Quote: | [1] If LSASS.EXE is corrupted then
Replace LSASS.EXE
Path: C:\winnt\system32
Using you DOS prompt bcoz I think you are unable to get your desktop.
[2] Format you PC and reinstall XP. |
Thanks, |

| You can also do copy and paste lsass.exe from another computer. I am not sure this will work in each and every case but this may work in some cases. So, first need to copy and paste and if it not work you need to format your computer and reinstall windows XP. |
