Access4Less.net What do you think of this ISP service? |
|
|
I am thinking of signing up with www.access4less.net or www.allvantage.com. Which one is better and why? I am not a heavy user so I just need to connect when required.
Thanks for all your help in advance. |

| I have not used www.access4less.net but they have been around for a while so I am assuming that they should be fine. I have not heard much about allvantage so can not tell you much about them. |

I'm an extremely disgruntled user of access4less. Cheap is cheap and they are. They however make up for it by charging $25.00 for support phone calls. There they are not cheap. I'm out of there. |

I think every ISP has their up's and down's.. one thing to keep in mind is access4less is for users who dont need the technical help or use the connection for a backup and not a 24x7 connection..
Bottom line you get what you pay for... |

Somethings wrong lately |
|
|
I have been with Access4less about 2 years and the service has been great.
However, in the past 3 weeks, the email access has slowed to a unusable speed level, both pop and webmail. The outgoing mail works fine.
It seems when they began offering the "high speed service", the problems began.
Also, the dial up number goes bad for some reason and I have to disconnect and reconnect with another number.

I'm trying to decide between access4less or stowetel. Anyone have experience with both?
Also, does access4less make it difficult to cancel service? I hate going through a hassle just to cancel...
Thanks |

Maybe not now |

| As of yet, I am receiving emails one to two days delayed. I would not join Access4less until they get this problem fixed. See my first msg above. |

I was considering either access4less or stowetel. Just in case I have to cancel, how do I go about doing so???
Thanks. |

Alot of ISPs don't refund setup fee's. Mostly because it takes time to setup the account etc. Access4less states in their TOS they do not offer a refund on setup fee's... Customers have to agree to that before signing up..
Just my 2 cents on the subject.. |

access4less good ISP or not? |
|
|
quick to sign up but costs 8.95 to open an account. Service is ok for connect and get off. but if you linger while surfing, suddenly you start getting PAGE NOT FOUND errs, etc. The connection remains but there is no handshaking coming back from them. I think they do some sort of sniffing of the line to prevent 24/7 connections and if idle for more than a few minutes, they cut you off. I am looking for a less-Draconian ISP ! |

Choice between Access4Less and Allvantage |
|
|
| To answer your original question....I have been with Allvantage for about 2 years. Service has been great, cost is low and have had no problem with connections. Please let me know if you are going to sign up so I can give you may name and I can receive a free month. |
