i cant connect

I signed up for an ISP just a while ago and i cant connect. I printed out the confirmation that they gave me, entered the material but i am still unable to connect. I get remote computer not answering, invalid user.

I too was having the same problem. I talked to my teacher at school and he explained to me that after you sign up, you need to contact the internet service provider (ISP) to make sure that your username has indeed been registered on their servers. Sometimes something might happen during the registeration period and your account might not have been created on the server. This will for sure prevent you from connecting.

You will also want to make sure that the username is entered in the proper format. Some ISPs require for you to enter the username in the email format, vtec@internetservice.com, simply entering vtec will not work. Majority of ISPs require this. Why? I dont know, maybe someone else will be able to explain why, but i cant

The last thing is you want to make sure you are entering the username/password the same way you registered it because in most cases, they are case sensitive, meaning UpPer cAsE aNd LoWeR cAsE DoEs Make a difference.

This is all that my teacher told me, and it turns out that i had the access numer, or dial number wrong. Instead of entering a number provided by the ISP, i entered my home number instead. silly me
