slow speed

I have bhn bright house networks with digital cable and earthlink internet.
My speed get real slow evry now and then i am running a toshiba cable modem and a linksys wirelss router. I dont know about my sisters comp but my laptop connected wirlessly will get slow speeds evry now and then.

I also know 2 outher peeps in my neibor hood 1 with a older modem and 1 with the same kind as mine i noticed that the person with the same kind of router than mine has speed drops 2 but the pesrons that has the older modem does not have any problems at all so it is probly the modem is there anyway i can fix it without getting a new modem
