Highstream.net
I have been on highstream for over a year very few problems and not bad connection time for a dial up. Also very good price. Still don't want to change after trying several others. [/b][/i]

Highstream's periodic lapses in service
I too have been using Highstream for some months. Initially it was very good but there have been a couple of periods when connection was unavailable, like now. When it works, the price is probably unbeatable, the 0800 support line means it's free even if they aren't any help. They admit they have problems but don't offer any outlook on resolution. I too may have to find someone else. Virgin seem good at present; PayGi are a reliable pay-as-you-go if you want to ensure your line/modem are OK.

HighStream
I have been with HighStream for almost a year and I love it. I left NetZero and BellSouth. Now, NetZero I had problems with the dail up connection, no numbers to call, etc. BellSouth is a pain anyway, they don't listen or read your complaints and it took days for them to get back with you a problem. My father switched over to HS from MyExcel, NetZero and BellSouth and he loves it.
Customer Service is great, they have always been friendly and helpful. I have rarely had a connection problem, as my father says I live on the internet. I can be online for 8-10 hours without getting bumped off. I did not like the HS accelerator. I have the internet turbo button and spyware blasters for speed with my dail up connection.
My father on the other hand, had the Emerson splitter which totally screwed up his connection to the internet and the speed of his pc with XP. I took the Emerson splitter off and his dail up connection is faster and he doesn't get disconneted anymore. He can't believe how much faster it is without the Emerson splitter.
We couldn't be more pleased.

Highstream sucks
Highstream sucks. I regularly get emails to me from friends and contacts sent to their spam mailbox. I also cannot get group emails to reach me. I have complained to their tech support and usually there is no reply. Their service is cheap--but it is not worth what they charge.
Recently they introduced a service where they let you see your spam mailbox. So now I go look there every day to see what I would have missed totally up till a month ago...it's very depressing. Almost makes me want to send postage stamps to all my friends and tell them to go back to using USPS to reach me!

Over two years
I have had Highstream for two years, and never, ever had any problems and I use it heavily. Speed is good for a dial-up service. The e-mail features are OK and never have received Spam. The customer service is good. I'm quite satisfied with them. And of course, the price cannot be beaten.

thats the truth also here is a new one I cancled my moms isp with highstream way back. i was givin a code its been like way past a year maybe year and a half, she is almost blind so i was looking at her bank statment and these crocks charged her for a year of servive for this comming year and she is on verizon and just paid for verizon for the 2nd year that means she got ripped off last year and didn't notice. that over 200 dollars stolen so far by there jerks. You have to canle online with your highstream name and password in your account.
she trashed all that no one remembers her name or password what kind of thieves is highstream anyway. there is no way to retreve the comfirmination codes after a year ya think it would be fine. gonn go to the bank in a minute to see what can be done to these thieves. change cards numbers or something. over 100 dollars for not used service thats just wrong.
here is the reply from them

Re: Worst experience with Highstream.net okay cancled
her bank lady got the name and password they gave her the first 3 letters of the password and I remembered the rest. went on to the account and deleted it. if you used highstream dont trust no people go in and cancle and get the code numbers. well enough of this for me.
isp's all stink for speed they all disconnect and all take to long for anything to be of any value to anyone. they shoud be discontinued. dsl or cable is the only way to not lose your temers. fast reliable. can play the games with out 10 min wait maybe 30 secs and your on. also pics show up now emails are there in a sec or two not several minutes if ya have pics. want peace of mind forget worthless isps. sorry isp's but ya know its true ya all are worthless.
