What is VEShellExt.dll (Sony corporation)

Running XP Pro with all updates. Every time I boot my PC the Windows Defender says this process is trying to install and should I let it? After a number of times saying No, I finally got tired of the prompt and said Yes. Now it still want's to install everytime I boot up. Can't find anything in Add/Remove to do with Sony. How do I get rid of it? I'm afraid to just delete the file, C:\WINDOWS\system32\VirtualExpander\VEShellExt.dll, as I know some process is trying to load it each time.

I've google'd VEShellExt.dll and nothing in English appears.

This is related to Sony MicroVault USB flash disk, which you might have used in the past. It installs Virtual Expander software for compressing files. You can disable it by running the Virtual Expander program from the usb disk - you can find an option to disable it if you right click on its icon in the tray.

I do not know of any way to completely un-install the software from the computer, as it does not show up in Add/Remove programs.
