Need IP changed thru my Cable modem
Hi All,
Have a very filthy hacker.
We all now have been put on black list at SpamCop..my Cable co-Charter does NOTHING..
I had all my inbox mail deleted (inc my medicare info)-
I cannot receive or send email on my primary accounts-
My IP according to spamcop is not a valid traceable IP.
The problem come if I run an IPCONFIG, as Charter tech told me.
I gave that to Spamcop said it was not valid.
I am up the old creek due to some slob.I also want to get back at the filth-but now have NO EMAIL at all.
What can I do???
I reported the abuse at my cable co-nothing!
I sent the abuser's email to aol.com, nothing and now I have no proof or email addresses
can I recover this email to me somehow???
I have another email, I hope somebody can get thru to me.
Thank You.

Hi Prince,
If the email was stored on your computer, not left on the remote email server, then you likely can restore the files.
As for your IP, this is assigned by your cable ISP every time the cable modem is reset. Turn off your workstation.
-> Turn the cable modem off, (if an RCA model unplug it), wait fifteen minutes. Power it on, then when stable power on your workstation.
You should be issued another IP.
If you are using a router, be certain to disable whatever Remote Administration feature it has.
-> Install a good firewall.
