Hi All,

I have a basic question. Can Fax Modem be used to make voice calls? I recently bought a fax modem by encore technologies and it came with a sofware called FaxTalk. I was able to use the windows fax wizard to receive faxes from the modem but what I want to do is use the computer also to make and receive phone calls. The inherent softwae FaxTalk gives me a crap quality of sound. The modem has a speaker and mic connections on it. I have 2 questions

1. If I dont want to use fax talk is there any other free software that I can use to make and receive phone calls and faxes on my computer

2. Is there anyway to supress the mic and speaker jacks on my modem and direct all the audio through my computers sound card?

please help me...

Regards prince
