Hi,

I have 160GB of files between my laptop and my current external hard drive. I am starting to edit video from my camcorder and I need a lot more space. I am in the market for a large external hard drive. My camcorder must be connected to the computer by firewire and requires the external hard drive spin at 7200 rpm. I have the current HD connected by a USB 2.0.
A couple of questions:

1. Should I get another firewire connection through my available PCI slot for the HD? Would the connection to the HD be faster through that new firewire rather than through USB 2.0? Are there limitations to a PCI firewire connection?

2. Can I go wireless? I use a wireless router that has available ethernet ports. The connection to my laptop is at 48 Mbps.

3. How big should I go? Will prices drop considerably any time soon?

4. What brand and/or model do you recommend?

5. What am I missing or forgetting?

Thank you
Henry
