wdfmgr.exe error wdfmgr.exe remove tool wdfmgr.exe info |

I think it could be a Trojan or Virus You can go for any online scan like panda, Symantec, trendmicro an a2 trojan scan.
I am guessing online scannging will but, but I am also not very surewhat wdfmgr.exe is, but I could be wrong as well. There really is not a log of info on wdfmgr.exe and the problems that it causes?
Also I would like to hear from others on the removal tools for wdfmgr and also if wdfmgr.exe is really even a spyware or not?
Please let me know the exact system purpose for wdfmgr.exe if any? I am almost convinced to remove wdfmgr.exe from my computer and before I do something stupid I want to confirm what wdfmgr.exe is
Also Microsoft here is some advice: You charge $80 -$90 per licence, then include a proper anti-virus, spyware, and firewall with windows.
I am just thinking how much time and money it would save if we had these three things. And if we did then today I would not have to worry about wdfmgr.exe or anyother sypware! |

wdfmgr.exe is Windows Media Player 10 Technical Beta |
|
|
Thats where it comes from, hope it helps. SO ITS NOT A VIRUS OR A TROJAN, SO DONT HURT YOUR HEAD
The Windows Driver Foundation (WDF) is the Microsoft strategy for the next generation of Microsoft® Windows® drivers. WDF addresses driver reliability problems and simplifies the development and support of Windows drivers.
WDF includes several components:
• Kernel-mode driver framework
• User-mode driver framework
• Driver verification tools
From the Windows Driver Foundation white paper
User-Mode Driver Framework
The user-mode driver framework implements a subset of the kernel-mode framework functionality, including support for Plug and Play, power management, and asynchronous I/O.
Using the user-mode framework, developers can create drivers for network-connected devices and some USB devices, such as portable media players, cameras, and cell phones. Although these drivers run in user mode, they will be standard Plug and Play drivers that the system finds and installs in the same way as kernel-mode Plug and Play drivers.
The user-mode driver framework will be supported on Windows Longhorn.

People relax - wdfmgr.exe is not a virus or any spyware. Its part of media player.
Again wdfmgr.exe is part of Microsoft Windows media player 10 and above.
Your right.. that is from media player 10 beta. I have also found that is confiicts with other apps that i run, such as nero. Some problems this will cause is, computer hangs in middle of burn, and when you try to play a media file nothing happens. Why dont we all just wait for the beta testers to find the bugs. The way things are going with microsoft does not look too good.. Microsoft does not even have a secure web browser out... Im sure they will fix it, but for now winamp and mozilla ff for me.. |

| Whenever anyone sees a process running that they believe to be a virus or if you just want to know what the hell it is just go to www.google.com and type it in the search bar exactly the way it reads in the process list. I have always gotten a correct answer this way and i get the answer fast. This forum is great for advice on what to do after you know what your dealing with to eliminate the problem but for the info on what it is and what its doing to your machine go to google and type it i the search. |

wdfmgr.exe showed up in my task manager, how to remove it? |
|

you got all a bit caried away from the original question, how to get rid of wdfmgr.exe to actually run all the time. Its very easy to remove it by following a vew simple steps.
1. go to start and run
2. type in to the run box the following : services.msc
This will open the services window. There you see all your services which are running. find the following service in the list, it will be close to the bottom of the window. It is called "indows User Mode Driver Framework"
double click on it! In the new small window you see SERVICE STATUS and buttons under it. Cick on stop to stop it. After that use the dropdown box next to STARTUP TYPE and select DISABLE. Click ok and close the window and your done. It will be gone of the task manager for good. I hope that helped you.
And which has been sayed about Media Player 10, i cant agree. I have no problem with it. the media player 10 which is now official available on microsofts website is not anymore a beta version, its version 10.00.00 3646. and I have no problem with burning cd's with nero or anything else.
Hope I been some help |

For great information about the tasks that are running in your Task Manager go to this website: http://www.answersthatwork.com/Tasklist_pages/tasklist.htm
From there just click on a letter (A-Z) that coresponds with the first letter of the task you are running. Search for the task you are curious about and there will be a definition of the extension, advise on what action you should take (ie: end task, leave alone, etc). It will also give you 2 or 3 different possibilities if that's the case, such as whether or not a known virus, trojen horse, etc masks it's self with the same extention.
I downloaded the AnswersThatWork Ultimate Troubleshooter that they have available also & I love it. It's reasonably priced and the programs a Task List (similar to your Windows Task Manager) that is very extensive in content. It also gives you the same information as their website does about tasks that are currently running on your system & what action you should take. Having the program accessible to run like Task Manager is just more convenient for some than always having to go to the website & look up tasks. Otherwise the website has all the same information about the tasks that the Troubleshooter has.
***Hope this helps some people. Its's helped me tremedously!!!
Happy Computing:-) |

| Actually, just this afternoon I was waylaid by one of those Bonzi websites posing as a search engine, to which I had been referred by Google in search of a poem by Walt Whitman. I got trapped in a Bonzi loop and when I checked my Firefox cookie manager, it was full of Bonzi cookies. However, Firefox cookie manager, Zonealarm, and Adaware freed me from it's clutches. The last time I was hijacked by Bonzi was in Internet Explorer and I had to close my system down for several days to weed out the little bugger. Internet Explorer and Microsoft are not very secure. Get used to it. Work around it. Don't foam at the mouth. |

wdfmgr.exe jamming other apps! |
|
|
here here!
wdfmgr.exe showed up after i installed wmp10
and after that....winamp started sticking.
i like wmp...thing is...im scared if i start dissing microsoft then i will miss out on something...silly aint it! but think about it...(your reading this because of microsoft (not solely..but mostly)...
most peoples first instinct is to uninstall the program that created the problem...what is the problem here...what is wdfmgr.exe doing, or trying to do...how can i help this app become successfull in what it is doing...
thus unsticking my winamp!
i found a solution!
delete the folder called windows media player.
{{{ who woulda thought }}}
dont even uninstall it...just delete the whole folder.
yeah
thats nice and rude.
bypass the registry and delete the whole folder
<making my playlist stick>...and my nero not burn! HOW DARE YOU!
i dont remember asking for a sub framework upon which if i was a developer could develop net apps!
sooooooo YOU GO NOW!
layin there cryin like a little beech
blip.... |

I've had wmp since it was beta and no problems...l when I got Service Pack 2 is when wdf.exe showed up in my task manager. All you have to do is highlight the running process and click on "End Process" in the lower right corner... |

Spybot isn't as efficiant as it used to be.
Suggest getting Ad-Aware SE (Special Edition). It kicks boney butt! |
