Extending an existing partition? |
|
|
HI
I KNOW this is possible inside of Xp. I've found the path before, now I can't do it. I made my wife's C drive a wee bit too small (I was being stupid, it seems). I have Acronis Disk Director somewhere, but can't find the danged disc. Though it is still installed on my own machine. Any help would be appreciated, I need to extend the logical partition by about 20Gb or more.
Thanks,
Henry |

Hi
I think you are thinking diskpart (MS-DOS).
Click on Start>Run>Type in diskpart
Here is a link for your review:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/325590
Just be careful, this is not one of MS best programs. Gpart, Acronis etc are more user friendly.
Hope this helps.
Thanks,

I had the same problem (Extending partition). I used GPARTED live CD and had no issues.
Here is a link:
http://sourceforge.net/project/showf...kage_id=173828
It is an ISO image so you will have to burn the image to CD.
Hope this helps. |
