Are you facing error 720(No PPP control protocols configured.) than please use follow the steps:
All Operating Systems - This error can occur if you have not configured your Dial-up Networking settings to use a protocol supported by the ISP or system you are calling. Check the Server Types tab of your Dial-up connectoid. Most ISP's use TCP/IP protocol, and no others should be checked. There is a screenshot of a Windows 95 connectoid's Server Tab here. Also check the Dial-up Server selection. For most ISP's this will be PPP, although some may support SLIP or CSLIP.
If you have selected TCP/IP as the protocol, and it is not supported by the system you are calling, you may get this error. (For example, a Remote Access Server set up for NetBEUI.) Solution: Configure the Server Types of the DUNS connectoid to match the protocol installed on the remote server.
If you are connecting to a server that requires 128-bit encryption and your system doesn't have 128-bit encryption installed, you may get this error. This Microsoft page will detect and recommend 128-bit encryption upgrade. Also see: MS KB Article: Installing RRAS disables 128-bit encryption.
The installation of TCP/IP and/or dial-up networking may be damaged. Check ControlPanel->Network for TCP/IP assigned to (or bound to) the Dial-up Adapter. You can Remove, then Re-install the TCP/IP protocol. If you have a LAN card in your machine and access the Internet via a modem, unless you use TCP/IP on your LAN, TCP/IP should be assigned (bound) to only the Dial-up Adapter.
Windows NT: If you have configured RAS to only receive calls, you may receive this error. Go to the Remote Access Service tab on Services from ControlPanel->Network, and configure RAS for dial-out only, or dial-out and receive calls. See this MS KB Article.
Windows NT & 2000: This MS KB Article indicates the error (as well as error 611) may have several different causes, including the NETBIOS interface not being installed, or NETBIOS binding disabled. |

Hi Friends,
The Error 720 - PPP Control protocols are not configured occured when the user's computer or server's computer do not configured the PPP Control protocols.
To resolve this error Make sure that the ISP Connection properties have selected the PPP protocols in server types tab.
If the DUN Connection is available and still the error occured, please reinstall the DUN on your computer.

This is the way to fix error 720.
First go in to your network control panel, then click on networking tab. Make sure that you have TCP/IP and Client for Microsoft Networks Installed and they have a check mark. If there is any IPX/SPX or NetBEUI protocols listed there first remove it. After a reboot go back into the same NCP and choose the settings button.
Then uncheck the bottom two checkmarks.
--> Enable software compression and
--> Negotiate multi-link for single-link connections
Some ISP make it impossible for you to connect because their hardware concider this as a junk information when trying to connect. After done this you will get connectected at your first attempt.
Have a Good Luck |

I also suffered from this problem, all you need to follow this steps
Click on Control Panel >> Add/Remove Programs
on the left click Add/Remove Windows Components
Uncheck "Networking Services" and also "Other Network File and Print Services"
finish.
Now you need to restart your computer
After that try to uninstalling and reinstalling TCP/IP again.
This may work for you. |

If your computer been incorrectly setup for access to the internet you will get this error.
Follow this steps.
Double click on 'My Computer' icon.
Now double click on 'Dial-up Networking' icon.
Right click on the 'BudgetSurf' icon and select 'Properties'.
Select the 'Server Types' tab, and ensure you have the 'Type of Dialup Server' set to 'PPP: Internet, Windows NT Server, Windows 98. If you do not have this option, select the one starting with 'PPP:'
Click the 'OK' button, and try to connect again. |

1. Uninstall and Reinstall dialer, network, and DUN.
2. If NT: Try installing the Netbios interface service.
3. If NT: Try reinstalling the service pack.
4. Refer to manufacturer.
These steps worked for me when I got this message! |

Dear brayan,
The Error 720 is the Windows Dial Up Networking (DUN) Error. It occurred while the user’s computer or the Network’s server not configured the Networking protocols like PPP, HDLC, SLIP. It is the point-to-point protocol that used to send packets of data over the Internet. It occurs while the user computer incorrectly setup for Internet Access.

You are so typical of the type of person who should box up their machine and leave computing to those with a little common sense. As far as I can see, everything that was kindly suggested to you could easily have worked. Judging by your response to their help I'm willing to bet that is is none other than an ID-10-T error..............
(this spells IDIOT)......you idiot. |
