Hi Bob,

I am agree with You. I have also faced the same problem with norton where AVG was successful. Shocked
But In detecting virus in email I think norton is the good one. actually I am having both AVG and NORTON.. main think in AVG is its not required that much CPU usage as Norton and its also scan the whole disk quickly than norton.. Rolling Eyes

From Where I can download it over the Internet?
I also want to know about other Norton Utilities that are available in the market?

I use Norton Antivirus 2002 on my HP 2.0 GHz, Windows XP home computer. I read a message that “There are My one year Antivirus subscription is ended.“ I inquired Online and they offered me 12-months renewal at $29.95. And I read an ad over internet that displays Buy NAV 2004 with 12 months subscription for the same price.

Which is more preferable?

Please help me…….

I prefer that you have to go with the newer version of Norton Antivirus 2004.
If you do not want to spend your money on such Internet Solutions. Then go through the freebie software’s.
Some of freeware anti virus software’s are AVG, AntiVir, Avast 4.0 Home Edition, Vcatch, and Easy Desk Software
Virus Repellent, etc.
Please get review from others those used it or uses currently.
Then Buy / download the Anti virus.

Last version of Norton, I used was Norton Anti Virus 2002 and Norton Internet Security 2002, both are very overstuffed and resource hungry programs. That’s why I Never renewed it. After I moved to AntiVir, a free German Anti Virus over a year ago.

I do not have single virus after getting it. I use Kerio 2.1.5 firewall on it. It is free but just little confusing to configure it. I think you can do better with this. Why you waste the money?

Try this ... Then decide what to do.

My friend – Alfred, buy a new PC a month ago. His system came with Norton Antivirus 2002 that came free for 6 months with his PC. After trial period over, He told me what to do? I told him not to waste money on Norton or any other Software, when AVG Anti Virus is Free.

Although I love a lot to AVG, if it goes to a pay service, I will switch to one of the other better-known free anti virus programs.

Right now im using the free trial that Norton provides through symantec.com. It helpled fix some of the problems my PC was having. Pretty good for free software. I am familiar with AVG anti-virus software but how does ti compare to Norton, McAfee, and others big names? Everywhere I go I will see people using Norton at universities, schools, etc. so Im inclined to assume it works really well.

get avg free it dont slow ur comp down or anything! norton slows ur comp down wicked bad... all antivirus programs are the same so just get avg... schools use norton because norton gives them a discount, if you buy avg profesional your comp will be running like u first got it
never ever install any thing of nortons unless you want ur comp as slow as a turtle.... GET AVG! avg updates by itself and removes viruses BEFORE they install... get avg
