Hello,

My friend bought new linksys wireless router last week. He has ACER laptop with a built in wireless card and the latest driver.

I have tried lot to configure the network, but I am not able to get a constant connection, regardless how close I am to the router. Sometimes it shows “limited connectivity” and when I restart the router then it work’s find showing signal strength. But that remains steady for only few minutes, and then the signal quality drops.

I search to resolve the problem and tried bunch of different things. But sometimes it works for few hours and then the same signal problem.

When I hook up the laptop through cable then it always works fine. But only problem with the wireless router.

Any idea? How can I resolve the problem?

Should I replace the router?

Thanks,
Peter

-- linksys is very tricky -- you have to call the actual company and have them help you set it up properly -- once you do that you should be fine -- its one of the best brands out there followed closely by netgear -- if that doesnt work for you -- try out netgear!
